Dallas Area Municipal Authority Awarded $1 Million for Regional Wastewater Expansion
Pennsylvania's Dallas Area Municipal Authority has been awarded $1 million in federal funding to advance the expansion and rehabilitation of its collection system. The allocation was secured through the FY2026 federal appropriations process.
The Dallas Area Municipal Authority (DAMA) in northeastern Pennsylvania received a $1,000,000 federal funding appropriation to support critical sewer system expansion and capacity improvements. The funding was secured by U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan as part of the FY2026 federal budget allocations.
Authority leadership noted that the grant represents a crucial federal investment in regional conveyance assets that have experienced heightened operational demand and aging-induced deterioration. The funds are earmarked for collection line extensions, pipeline renewals, and regional capacity enhancements.
The project aligns with wider legislative support for the Water Resources Development Act of 2026, which aims to provide resources for regional wastewater authorities, reduce systemic environmental risks, and build long-term operational resilience for municipal clean water utilities.
