EPA Releases 2024 Clean Water State Revolving Fund Annual Report
The U.S. EPA released its 2024 Annual Report for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, highlighting $194 billion in total funding provided to communities since 1988. The program continues to be a primary vehicle for financing water quality and public health infrastructure.
The report details the impact of the program, which has supported over 53,000 low-cost loans for water infrastructure projects nationwide. These investments are crucial for meeting environmental standards and protecting aquatic resources.
Under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the program has received an additional $11.7 billion, plus $1 billion specifically for emerging contaminants. This influx of capital is designed to accelerate the pace of infrastructure modernization across the country.
The EPA also recognized several projects through the George F. Ames PISCES program, which honors exceptional accomplishments in improving water quality. These projects serve as examples of how the revolving fund can be effectively utilized to achieve significant environmental outcomes.
