Cake Conveyance & Storage
Moving dewatered cake from the press or centrifuge to a hopper or truck without jamming or excessive odor.
Screw conveyors and belt conveyors both move dewatered cake, with screw conveyors better suited to stickier, higher-solids material that would slip on an open belt.
Cake storage hoppers need adequate capacity to buffer between dewatering operating hours and hauling truck schedules, since the two rarely run continuously in sync.
Watch for: conveyor jamming from oversized rag material that passed through upstream screening, and hopper bridging (cake sticking and forming a void) preventing consistent discharge.
