EPA Issues Categorical Exclusions for Wastewater Infrastructure Projects
The EPA has issued several Categorical Exclusions (CATEX) for various wastewater and water infrastructure projects across the United States, including initiatives in New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. These actions facilitate the implementation of community grants for facility improvements and system upgrades.
Recent EPA documentation confirms the approval of projects such as the wastewater treatment plant boiler replacement in Corning, New York, and sewage treatment plant improvements in Dry Tavern, Pennsylvania. These projects are funded through federal community grants.
In Vermont, the Bolton Valley Water and Community Development Company received a CATEX for a community wastewater treatment facility. These administrative actions allow for the expedited processing of environmental reviews for projects that meet specific criteria.
These projects represent a diverse range of infrastructure needs, from watermain replacements in Massachusetts to aquifer upgrades in Hawaii. The EPA continues to oversee these community-level investments to ensure compliance with federal standards.
