Vero Beach Reaches Milestone on "One Water Campus" Infrastructure Project
The City of Vero Beach completed the first building of its new One Water Campus, a facility designed to integrate wastewater, stormwater, and drinking water services. The project aims to modernize utility operations for the city and surrounding communities.
The City of Vero Beach has reached a significant milestone in the construction of its "One Water Campus" with the completion of the first operations building. This 3,750-square-foot facility will house staff and equipment necessary for the integrated management of wastewater, stormwater, and drinking water. The campus is designed to consolidate utility services and improve operational efficiency for the region.
The project reached this milestone with the completion of a 100-foot-long steel structure that includes offices, workshops, and warehouse space. City staff are expected to move into the building shortly after the county issues a certificate of occupancy. This campus represents a shift toward holistic water resource recovery and management.
Once fully operational, the One Water Campus will handle all types of water treatment and distribution for Vero Beach and its neighbors. The project is part of a long-term strategy to replace aging infrastructure with modern, resilient facilities that can adapt to changing environmental conditions.
